According to experts, if each family uses 5kW electricity/day for a water heater, they have to pay 1,650,000 VND a year. Meanwhile, if they use a solar water heater, they don’t have to pay electricity bills and could save thousands of kWs of electricity a year.
Currently, most of hotels in Nha Trang City use solar water heaters for their service and daily activities, cooking, washing, bathing… Owners of the hotels said thanks to solar water heaters, the electricity charge had dropped sharply. “We have been using a solar water heater for 2 months and has found its great efficiency. Also, we feel safer,” said Mr. Nguyen Luong Dac, the manager of Thien Binh Hotel at 4 Bui Thi Xuan St., Nha Trang City.
Dang Huy Company, Ltd., 77 Nguyen Binh Khiem, Nha Trang City is a sole distributor of solar water heaters labeled Khanh Dai said that many hotels, companies, agencies… in the city had contracts to install solar water heaters. Besides, the company is also installing a water system with a capacity of 200l for the charity kitchen of the Khanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital. According to scientists, solar energy (sunshine) is a free and abundant power without producing waste water and air avoiding environmental degradation.
Currently, on the market, some 80-500l solar water heaters installed in Vietnam by the foreign technology cost from 4 to 22 million VND/ set such as Khang Dai and Yachi. Some water heaters were imported from China and Taiwan such as Quan Quan, Tan Luc…According to Khang Dai Company, its solar water heater has a 5-year warranty and maintenance once every 6 months for the first 3 years.
