Ethnic cultural features presented at Vietnamese Ethnic Groups' Cultural Day

Khanh Hoa Province organized many activities to celebrate the 2022 Vietnamese Ethnic Groups' Cultural Day in Khanh Vinh District on April 15 and 16. The occasion provided an opportunity for the ethnic groups in the province to exchange culture and strengthen the solidarity among them.

More than 800 artisans, actors and players from eight districts, communes and cities over the province took part in the cultural day. During the event, the local people in the mountainous area of Khanh Vinh District enjoyed a bustling atmosphere with numerous activities organized at the district Center of Culture, Information and Sports, such as photo exhibition, sports contest, music performances, and contest on decorated propaganda cars. Stick pushing and crossbow shooting games were cheered by many spectators; the contest on decorated propaganda cars also attracted the interest of a lot of people. The photo exhibition displayed more than 60 photos presenting the daily life and cultural activities of the ethnic people.

Besides, the participating units introduced their local products and specialties to the jury and attendees. The districts of Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh introduced local well-known fruit such as green-skin grapefruits, durians, jackfruits, etc., traditional labor tools, and dishes of ethnic people. Van Ninh District and Ninh Hoa Town introduced their typical dishes namely fermented fish rolls and fish paste. The stalls of Cam Lam District and Cam Ranh City displayed many types of mangoes and mango products. Dien Khanh District brought to the event many types of Vietnamese rice cakes. Meanwhile, Nha Trang City served visitors with “banh xeo” (Vietnamese crepes), sea grapes, and products made of seashells.
 
The event also featured music performances presenting the diverse cultural features of the ethnic groups in Khanh Hoa such as river wharf ceremony of Ede people. Through well-prepared performances, the local audience knew more about the culture and costumes of different ethnic minorities. Artisan Y Oanh (Soi Mit Hamlet, Khanh Hiep Commune) was happy to introduce a long-standing ceremony of his ethnic group to the public and hoped to have more opportunities to exchange and introduce the beauty of culture of his community to everyone.
