Cultural exchanges, an effective way of promoting culture

In recent years, many cultural exchanges between the local art troupes and oversea ones have been organized in Nha Trang. This has contributed to enhance the relationship between the localities and helped to promote the image of Nha Trang in particular and Khanh Hoa in general.

In recent years, many cultural exchanges between the local art troupes and oversea ones have been organized in Nha Trang. This has contributed to enhance the relationship between the localities and helped to promote the image of Nha Trang in particular and Khanh Hoa in general.

Not long ago, the music lovers in Nha Trang enjoyed the performances of Bunbury band from Western Australia and pianist Váradi László from Hungary. These two art programs were among the activities to promote the cultural exchange between Nha Trang and Bunbury City and between Khanh Hoa Province and the Consulate General of Hungary in Ho Chi Minh City. Earlier, many music programs were organized as part of the Pacific Partnership 2018 in Nha Trang.

As Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Dac Tai reported, the cultural exchanges are a relatively fast and effective way to establish diplomatic relations with other countries and localities in the world. The cultural activities often help the authorities and people from other countries to know more about each people and foster the mutual understanding between the sides.

Reportedly, Khanh Hoa has set up cooperative relations with nine provinces, cities and territories over the world. In the future, the province will continue to build friendly relations with more localities such as Altai Republic (Russia), Gomel (Belarus), and Osaka (Japan). Cultural exchange has always been a significant part among the discussions between Khanh Hoa and the oversea localities.

Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Sea Festival is the event which drew the largest number of foreign art troupes and audience among the cultural events held in Khanh Hoa. “Khan Hoa’s leaders in recent years have identified expanding and promoting international cultural cooperation as a focus of attention. Therefore, the province has organized many international cultural exchanges to strengthen the relationship with other countries and foreigners’ communities in the province,” said Duong Nam Khanh, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Foreign Affairs.

Exchanges in culture are also often discussed at the meetings between Khanh Hoa’s leaders and diplomatic representatives of other countries. At the meeting with Caudia Liliana Zambrano Naranjo - Colombian Chargé d’Affaires to Vietnam, Tran Son Hai - Permanent Deputy Chairman of Khanh Hoa People’s Committee, invited the art troupe of Colombia to take part in the Sea Festival 2019 of Khanh Hoa.  “We would like to hold exhibitions about Colombia and our people, about writer Gabriel José García Márquez and his book titled “One Hundred Years of Solitude” in Khanh Hoa. We are also please to send our art troupe to the Sea Festival of Khanh Hoa,” said the Colombian Chargé d’Affaires. Baloghdi Tibor, Hungarian Consul-General in Ho Chi Minh City, in a recent meeting with Nguyen Dac Tai, undertook to organize an art program bearing the cultural characteristics of Hungary in Nha Trang in 2019.

Through promoting cultural diplomacy activities, people from different countries will know more about the people and culture of other countries outside their home country. The cultural exchange will also help the local to learn to the cultural quintessence of the mankind and enrich the local traditional culture.
