Doctors from the medical clinic for war veterans of Khanh Hoa Province have just given medical examination and medicines free of charge to war veterans in Dien Phuoc Commune and Dien Lam Commune, Dien Khanh District, Khanh Hoa Province.

Among 52 people receiving free medical check-up and medicines, Le Duc Tam’s family, a 55-year-old wounded soldier, in Phuoc Tuy Hamlet, Dien Phuoc Commune is a very pitiful case.

He has 5 children, one of whom, Le Duc Phu, 26 years old, has suffered heart disease from birth. He has been to Cho Ray Hospital for 2 times; however, his poor family couldn’t afford for a heart operation. Therefore, Le Duc Phu was carried home. Now, he takes medicine to prolong his life as long as possible.

Tam's wife, Ngo Thi Le Tuyet, 50 years old, is also a thyroid gland cancer patient. She had two operations and now is still in treatment with cancer radiation therapy in Khanh Hoa General Hospital.

Tam has to earn living by watching vehicles in a rural market. So, the mother and the son, suffering from deadly diseases, have to take care each other.

Tam said that the monthly treatment expenses for his wife and son now exceed the financial resources of his family.

Mr. Tam’s family hopes to receive supports from authorities, benefactors and readers everywhere to overcome this difficult condition.

All the supports can be sent to the charity box of Khanh Hoa Newspaper office at 77 Yersin St., Nha Trang City, or Le Duc Tam (0945505683).
