Thuong is being treated at the Department of Orthopedics of Khanh Hoa Provincial Hospital of Traditional Medicine and Rehabilitation. His mother, Nguyen Thi Phuong (born in 1973), has been weary from lack of sleep, taking care of Thuong with a hope that his son will recover soon.
Nguyen Cao Ky Nam (born in 2011, grade 5 pupil at Ninh Hiep 1 Primary School, Ninh Hoa Town, Khanh Hoa) is being treated for blood cancer at Ho Chi Minh City Blood Transfusion and Hematology Hospital. Nam is the second son of Nguyen Thi Hoan Kim Oanh (born in 1979).
