The Ha Tinh Service of Science and Technology has just successfully done a research on the scientific theme “extracting attar from aquilaria crassna by biological method” and is being put into practice to raise the output of aquilaria crassna attar.
At present, to stimulate and extract attar from aquilaria crassna, there are 3 methods including mechanical, chemical and biological methods.
Scientists at the Ha Tinh Service of Science and Technology have studied putting the biological product “Lt” into 3-year-old and 10-year-old aquilaria crassna. Results have showed that the output of extracted aquilaria crassna attar is three times higher than using other methods.
There are about 400ha of aquilaria crassna in Ha Tinh Province, especially in Huong Khe, Vu Quang and Huong Son. Aquilaria crassna aged from 8 to 10 may cost 1 million VND and its attar is approximately 120 – 140 million VND/ l.
However, aquilaria crassna farmers usually extract attar by the traditional handicraft method, so attar output is still not high, unable to meet the demand.
