A farmer named Truong Thanh Hoan in Khanh Phu Commune, Khanh Vinh District, Khanh Hoa Province has recently invested in a model enabling tourists to experience fruit orchard. This model has brought stable income for his family, and created jobs for some local workers.

Hoan's family has been living in Nga Hai village, Khanh Phu commune since 1996, with their main income from fruit trees. Due to the unstable output of agricultural products, in 2019, he and his wife changed to farming combined with tourism. On the land of 1.5ha, they have built an aquarium of more than 3,500m2 and areas for dining and fishing for guests. Here, beside experiencing fishing and culinary services, visitors can also see the farming model with local key crops like green skin grapefruits, oranges, jackfruits, etc. and enjoy the fruits right at the orchard.

Hoan shared that, the model of his family has attracted a large number of guests from many places such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, the western south... On weekends and holidays, this is also a place that people in Nha Trang and Dien Khanh chooses as a place to play and relax. Owning to this model, the family has an additional source of regular income from fishing and culinary services, selling fruit to tourists.
Besides income for his family, Hoan also creates more seasonal jobs for some local ethnic minorities. To expand the business model, Hoan plans to build accommodations for visitors to stay.

According to Dang Thi Thanh Suong - Vice Chairman of Khanh Vinh District Farmers' Association, Truong Thanh Hoan’s family is a member among good production and business farmers in Khanh Phu commune. To improve his income, his family has invested in transforming the model. This new model is suitable with the district's eco-tourism development orientation. In the process of sightseeing and exploring, visitors will be excited to experience the environment, landscape, daily life of local people and nature. If the model is replicated, it will contribute to diversify local production and service types, create more local jobs, and be a good advertising channel for the district's agricultural products. The district Farmers' Association will support households to widely advertise, and replicate the model to other localities, contributing to helping farmers have new directions in production and business, increase income and improve their life.
