Le Huu Hoang, Standing Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee presided over a meeting on September 25 with relevant departments and agencies on the plan to pilot "vaccine passport" entry for international visitors. Present at the event was Dinh Van Thieu, Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee.
 
According to Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism, the trial of the "vaccine passport" entry for international visitors on charter flights includes 2 phases. The first phase starting in November 2021 will welcome visitors to resorts in Bai Dai, Cam Lam; and in the 2nd phase will follow with the participation of resorts situated in secluded locations such as Vinpearl on Hon Tre Island and Merperle Hon Tam. Khanh Hoa will prioritize international long-stay visitors from countries  with successful response to Covid-19 such as Russia, South Korea, China, japan and Taiwan.

International visitors with “vaccine passports” are those fully vaccinated with two doses with the second administered at least 14 days before their visit, or recovery certificates. Travelers under 18 must show negative PT- PCR tests taken 48 hours prior to the departure.
 
Resorts receiving international visitors with “vaccine passports” must meet Covid-19 safety regulations during tourism activities and have isolation areas with healthcare workers. Staff in direct contact with guests must be fully vaccinated with the second administered at least 14 days or recovered from Covid-19 and tested for the virus every 3 days.
 
At the meeting, Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Van Thieu and leaders of many departments suggested asking for the Prime Minister's  permission to pilot "vaccine passport" entry for international visitors  in compliance with Covid-19 travel safety criteria (safe guests, safe staff, safe vehicles, safe accommodation, safe tours) while ensuring comfort for tourists.

Concluding the meeting, Standing Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Huu Hoang agreed in principle that the province would ask for the Prime Minister's approval of the "vaccine passport" entry for international visitors from November 2021 with the first phase from November to December 31, 2021 and the second from January 1 to March 31, 2022. The Department of Tourism was assigned to collect ideas and suggestions from the meeting participants to urgently finish the draft plan which will be submitted to the Provincial People’s Committee for approval before September 30. After that, the Provincial People’s Committee will send the draft plan to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and relevant agencies and then to the Prime Minister for assessment and approval.
