Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee has just recognized the results and assigned the ownership of the provincial scientific and technological research on community-based sustainable tourism development in Khanh Hoa under the provincial scientific and technological program conducted by the Socio-economic Development Research Center under Vietnam Economic Association in pursuant to the contract with Khanh Hoa Department of Science & Technology.
The research mentioned strength and weakness, opportunities and challenges of community-based sustainable tourism development in Khanh Hoa and gave some suggestions on suitable models together with necessary conditions in terms of materials, human force and the participation of the community.

The two pilot models included "Local communities play a key role in the marine tourism chain" in Ninh Van, Ninh Hoa Town; and “Development of community-based rural tourism, eco-tourism associated with conservation and development of natural resources and local culture in mountainous areas” in Dien Xuan Commune, Dien Khanh District.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned such the following departments: Tourism; Culture and Sports; Planning and Investment, Agriculture and Rural Development, Industry and Trade; Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, People's Committees of districts and towns to apply the research results into practice; The Department of Tourism to provide consultancy related to support policies for community tourism development in the province in the period of 2021 - 2025 for the Provincial People's Committee; in partnership with Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association to organize activities to promote community tourism, etc.
