According to a report of the provincial Department of Tourism, in the first 6 months of 2021, the province only received more than 457,000 visitors, down 38.5% over the same period last year and only reaching 9.1% of the year’s target.
 
A deep drop in tourist arrivals has affected the business of accommodation services. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh - Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Tourism said that by May 2021, only about 400 out of 1,147 hotels and resorts in the province still opened. The difficult tourism has made travel businesses exhausted. Only 80 out of 141 businesses are still operating.
 
In 2021, Khanh Hoa tourism expected in the domestic market, especially in the summer. However, the Covid-19 outbreak from the end of April until now has made tourism activities completely stopped. Therefore, many businesses have applied for a domestic travel business license. T., an owner of a domestic travel business share “According to regulations, in order to obtain a domestic travel business license, businesses must deposit 100 million VND in a bank. Now the company is so difficult that we have to return the travel service business license to withdraw the deposit.”
 
 
Recently, the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association has implemented for tourism businesses to register a list of Covid-19 vaccinations for employees. Up to now, 108 tourism enterprises (with total 7,288 employees) have proposed to be vaccinated against Covid-19.
 
Nguyen Thi Le Thanh - Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Tourism said that the Department of Tourism will meet with businesses to find solutions to overcome difficulties for tourism businesses; continue to implement solutions to stimulate domestic tourists in association with safety in the epidemic prevention and control. At the same time, the province will strengthen communication about Khanh Hoa as a safe destination as well as information about new products and services, high quality and competitive prices to attract tourists to Khanh Hoa. The department will coordinate with the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association and related units to develop training programs and foster high-quality human resources in tourism in order to support businesses to proactively quality resources for the recovery period after the Covid-19 pandemic.
