The Prime Minister has issued Decision No. 147/QĐ-TTg approving Vietnam tourism development strategy by 2030.
Accordingly, by 2030, Vietnam sets a target to make tourism a spearhead and sustainable economic sector and become 1 of 30 countries in the world, meeting sustainable development goals.
The total revenue from tourists is expected to reach VND3,100-3,200 trillion (USD 130-135 billion), 11 - 12%/year on average, contributing 15 - 17% directly to GDP and create 8.5 million jobs, including 3 million direct ones, 8 - 9%/year on average by 2030. Vietnam strives to welcome at least 50 million foreigners and serve 160 million domestic tourists with an average growth rate of 8-10% of international tourists and 5-6%/ year of domestic tourists.
