More culinary events needed

Recently, when attending the Congress of Khanh Hoa Hotel Association, Do Thi Hong Xoan – Chairwoman of Vietnam Hotel Association called, “Khanh Hoa tourism needs to uphold local culinary values more in tourism activities. Khanh Hoa has fresh and delicious seafood source, so there should be a culinary event to introduce to visitors. Tourist establishments need to explore and enhance local dishes to introduce to visitors”.

According to Nguyen Thi Le Thanh - Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Tourism, in recent years, promoting local cuisine in tourism activities has been more focused. Some dishes with local characteristics such as fish noodle, banh canh ... have also been served in luxury hotels and resorts. Currently, the tourism is building the outline for the project to build tourism products in Khanh Hoa in the coming period. In particular, the provincial tourism will have orientations to develop tourism products associated with promoting local culinary cultural values ​​such as organizing culinary tours and events and encouraging traditional dishes to serve tourists.

In 2020, Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association planned to organize Food Festival 2020 and set up it as an annual event. Unfortunately, the event was canceled by the Covid-19. “We hope that, in the coming time, when tourism activities are restored, Khanh Hoa tourism will organize culinary cultural events to serve tourists. That will promote Khanh Hoa culinary culture to domestic and international tourists ”, said Pham Minh Nhut – Vice-chairman of Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa Tourism Association.
