Russian tourists to Khanh Hoa rise slightly

According to the statistics of the National Administration of Tourism, Vietnam received about 455,000 Russian tourists in the first nine months of 2018, increasing by 8.5% year-on-year. In the first eight months of 2018, Khanh Hoa received over 297,000 Russian visitors, a 1.3% increase year-on-year.
 
The number of Russian tourists to Khanh Hoa is slowing down because companies specializing in charter flights to carry out Russian tourists to Vietnam like Anex Vietnam, Anh Duong Travel, etc. area aiming new destinations.
 
According to Nguyen Van Thanh, Standing Vice-chairman of Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, the number of Russian tourists to Khanh Hoa Province is competed not only by Phan Thiet but by emerging destinations lime Ninh Thuan and Phu Quoc. Especially, Phu Quoc is exempt visa for Russian tourists for 30 days instead of 15 days likes other places. Therefore, Anex Vietnam is concentrating on developing Russian tourists to Phu Quoc. Besides, Da Nang has worked with  ANEX Tour to take Russian tourist to Da Nang for winter vacation and plan to open direct flights from Russia to Da Nang.

Russian tourists to rise more
 
The average staying time of about two weeks (three times as much as Chinese tourists), Russian tourist contributes a large part in ensuring room occupation of hotels in Khanh Hoa at over 70%, giving earning for the local tourism.
 
Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, deputy director of the provincial Department of Tourism, the slight increase in the number of Russian is not worrying as the peak time of Russian tourists is from November to March. 
In 2017, the number of Russian tourists ranked the sixth in Russian tourists to Vietnam, about 40,000 fewer than tourists from the US (the 4th) and Taiwan (the 5th). Traveling to Vietnam is more and more popular to Russian people, especially in cold winters of Russia. This year, Russian tourists may rank the fourth in international tourists to Vietnam.
