Target to welcome 5.5 million tourists

People's Committee of Khanh Hoa Province has adopted the plan to carry out Action Program of Tourism 2017 which aims to receive 5.5 million tourists (a 17% year-on-year increase), including 1.7 million international ones (a 21.5% year-on-year increase).

According to Pernament Vice-chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Son Hai, the plan has been made basing on results of the province’s tourism in 2016.
 
To reach the targets in 2017, the province will submit the Central applications for Nha Trang to be recognized as an ecological sea tourist urban area and Northern Cam Ranh Peninsula Tourist Area to be recognized as a national tourist area; check and set up data resource about tourism of the province to recognize tourist spots and build tourist routes; continue upgrading Cam Ranh International Airport; improve Nha Trang Port to be a tourist port; make plan to develop tourist spots, especially areas for entertainment and shopping; call investment in tourism, etc.
 
Besides, the provincial People’s Committee will attach importance to marketing for tourism such as expanding to international markets, building symbol of the local tourism, joining events to promote tourism, and organize an event to welcome the 5 millionth visitor to the province in the year. In addition, security for tourists, human resource training and cooperation to develop tourism will be continued. The tourism department will also strengthen the State management in tourism.
 
The plan for the Action Program of 2017 is evaluated to be new, positive and specific. The provincial Department of Tourism takes charge of supervising and guiding the plan’s implementation and deal with problems within jurisdiction.
