Khanh Hoa tourism confirms its growth

During the past years, Khanh Hoa has upheld its advantages to develop tourism and attract visitors. Tourism has kept its position as a key industry of the province.


High growth rate

Khanh Hoa owns a lot of advantages for tourism. Right orientations of the province have upheld the advantages and make the tourism industry to grow rapidly. The average growth rate of tourism during the past five months has reached 15% per year. Remarkably, tourism turnover and the number of visitors, especially international visitors have showed 15% - 20%/year in growth rate. 2013 is the peak year when tourism turnover hit VND4,000 billion, a sharp rise of 36%; the number of visitors rose by 30% to 3 million, including 710,000 international ones, 34% up.

 

In 2015, the province is expected to exceed its target in tourism with VND7,500 billion in tourism turnover (VND7,200 billion targeted) and 4.2 million in total visitors (4 million targeted), including 1 million international ones.

Tourism center

According to the overall planning for tourism development in the Southern Central Coast till 2020 and vision to 2030 ratified by the Prime Minister, Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa is expected to become a tourism center of the southern sub-region (including provinces of Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan), and an auxiliary center of the northern sub-region. This is a big advantage for tourism of Khanh Hoa in the coming time.

 

Khanh Hoa also has been highly appreciated in good policies to draw investment in tourism. Up to now, the province has 601 hotels and resorts with 19,936 rooms, including 90 3-5 star hotels with 11,639 rooms (making up 58.4% of the total). The number of travel companies is 193, including 40 ones operating outbound tours. Transport services are diversified and modern with more than 2,000 automobiles and 643 inland waterway ships. The province has 2 18-hole golf courses, one in Vinpearl Land and the other in Diamond Bay Resort & Spa.

 

Vinpearl and Diamond Bay also are big tourism investors in Nha Trang. Along with two resorts Vinpearl Resort and Vinpearl Luxury, Vinpearl has put the first stage of the resort project Vinpearl Premium with 504 rooms. The investor is processing the second phase of the project with an area of 5-star villas with over 450 rooms.

 

Diamond Bay Resort & Spa also has made strong investment and confirmed its position with a resort area of 334 rooms, a hotel area of 168 rooms and 166 family suites.

 

In addition, the city also gathers many hotels with world-famous brand names like InterContinental, Best Western, Six Sense, Accor, etc. which have contributed to the tourism trademark of Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa.

 

With the advantages and the right heading, tourism of Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa has confirmed its image, deserving of a big tourism center in Vietnam.
