The opening match of the first leg, round 1 between Sanvinest Khanh Hoa and GFDI Song was played at Nha Trang National College of Pedagogy on March 19. The leaderships of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports and Khanh Hoa Salanganest Nest Soft Drink Joint Stock Company and more than 1,000 spectators went to see the match.
The both sides started the match with careful plays. The hosts Sanvinest Khanh Hoa struck with a goal after Minh Tuan converted a pass into goal. After taking the lead, Sanvinest Khanh Hoa played slowly and had to fend off the attacks from the visitors GFDI Song Han. The hosts had a hard time facing the power-play of GFDI Song Han in the last phase of the match. The waves of attacks from the visitors also gave the hosts opportunities to have more goals. Minh Tuan with his excellent form netted two more goals, earning Sanvinest Khanh Hoa three points in their first match of the tournament.
