HDBank National Futsal Championship 2022: Sahako close to championship

Sahako drew 0-0 with Thai Son Nam in the match that was considered as the early final of the second leg of the 2022 HDBank National Futsal Championship. With this result, Sahako are close to the championship with their unbeaten streak extended to 11.

 

The second leg of the 2022 HDBank National Futsal Championship is taking place at Can Tho City Sports Arena. In round 13 played on October 27, Sahako and Thai Son Nam competed with each other for the top position on the point table. Before the match, defending champions Thai Son Nam had been 2 points behind Sahako and had played 1 match more than Sahako. Therefore, Thai Son Nam had to win against Sahako to defend their title.

 

 

 

With many key players of Vietnam national futsal team in the line-up, Thai Son Nam started the match on the front foot aiming to control the match. However, Sahako with the excellence of Khong Dinh Hung, Lam Tan Phat, Chu Van Tien displayed a tight performance prevented the attacks of Thai Son Nam. While being busy attacking in search of a goal to clear the deadlock, Thai Son Nam nearly conceded a goal as Nie Kdam of Sahako hit the post. The match finally ended in a goalless draw.

 

The draw helps Sahako stay firmly at the first place on the table on 27 points after 11 matches. Thai Son Nam are second with 25 points after 12 matches (7 wins, 4 draws and 1 loss). Having play 1 match fewer than Thai Son Nam, Sahako have the opportunity to widen the gap and turn Thai Son Nam into former champions.

 

Also in the 13th round, Sanvinest Khanh Hoa had the 3rd loss in a row after losing 1-5 to Thai Son Bac. This result made Sanvinest Khanh Hoa to drop from the 5th place to the 8th place (the next to last). The decline in form of key players and rejuvenation process have caused the team many difficulties compared to the previous seasons. With this situation, it will be difficult for Sanvinest Khanh Hoa to stay in the league.
