Nha Trang Dolphins faced many difficulties in the second match of the semi-finals against Hanoi Buffalous, which took place at Hoang Mai Stadium, Hanoi on August 25. CJ.Jackson, who had played an important role in the play of Nha Trang Dolphins, could not recover in time for this clash with Hanoi Buffalous. In addition, Nha Trang Dolphins played on the opponents' home ground without the direction of their head coach Tood Puvers, who missed the match due to a disciplinary suspension imposed by VBA for his response to the referee's decisions in the first semi-final match between the two teams. Therefore, Nha Trang Dolphins couldn’t resist strong attacks of the hosts and were defeated with the score of 63-81. With the second loss to Hanoi Buffalous in the semi-finals, Nha Trang Dolphins stopped their journey at VBA 2022 at 3rd place.

According to Do Thi Phuong Loan, CEO of Nha Trang Dolphins, this is an emotional season, marking a new turning point for Nha Trang Dolphins. From a young team that didn’t win any match in a tournament last year, with effort and determination, Nha Trang Dolphins have become one of the four strongest teams in the 2022 edition of VBA. The team's failure in the semi-final round was somewhat regretful to the players and their supporters. However, with their determined efforts from their first VBA (2022) up to now, hopefully, Nha Trang Dolphins will come back stronger next season.

The achievement of Nha Trang Dolphins at VBA 2022 is expected to lay the foundation for strong development of basketball in the province, as said by Nguyen Tuan Thanh, deputy director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports. The debut and home matches of Nha Trang Dolphins at the basketball court of Nha Trang University not only captured the interest of basketball lovers but also created spiritual “meals” for people in the beach city of Nha Trang. The matches helped to attract many tourists to Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa.
