The last games and the closing and awarding ceremony of the 2022 National 7-a-Side Football Championship - Central Region (KPL-S3) took place recently at the football ground of Nha Trang University. Van Tin secured the championship of KPL-S3 two rounds ahead of the end of the tournament after their impressive performances against Dong De Khanh Hoa, Olympic Gym, and Thanh Thanh FC in direct competitions. Therefore, the last two rounds only served as an opportunity for Van Tin players to score more goals for the top goal scorer title. In round 6, Van Tin won 9-3 against Phui Phu Yen. In the 7th round, Van Tin was awarded a 3-0 victory over Tuan Huong for unplayed game. With seven consecutive unbeaten matches and 21 points, Van Tin won the championship, thereby gaining a place in the VPL-S3 finals.

The KPL-S3 final round also witnessed dramatic competitions between Olympic Gym and Phui Phu Yen, Thanh Thanh FC and Dong De Khanh Hoa. Olympic Gym won 2-0 against Phui Phu Yen to become the runners-up and claimed a spot in the VPL-S3 finals. Meanwhile, Thanh Thanh FC and Dong De Khanh Hoa displayed a dramatic competition in the third-place match. Finally, with the competence of KPL-S1 champions of and VPL-S1runners-up, Thanh Thanh FC under the instruction of former national player Vo Duy Nam defeated Dong De Khanh Hoa with the score of 3-2 to claim the bronze medal.
At the awarding ceremony, the organization committee offered the title for the best player of the tournament to Tran Minh Tuan (Olympic Gym); top scorer to Diep Tu Huy (Van Tin); best goalkeeper to Nguyen Van Han (Van Tin); and best coach to Luong Viet Lam (Van Tin).
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Pham Ngoc Tuan, member of the executive committee of Vietnam Football Federation, head of the organization committee, highly appreciated the performances of KPL-S3 teams as well as the quality of this year’s tournament. This would encourage Vietfootball to continue supporting the tournament in order to promote the development of the national and central 7-a-side football movements.
