By the end of June, the province's high-achieving sports teams participated in more than 30 tournaments and won 26 gold medals, 53 silver medals and 56 bronze medals. The province's strong sports such as karate, muay, taekwondo, volleyball (beach, indoor), athletics, and weightlifting maintained the number of achieved medals. Specifically, the provincial athletics team joined three big national tournaments, namely Thong Nhat Speed Cup Athletics Tournament (Ho Chi Minh City), the 63rd Tien Phong Newspaper National Marathon Championship (Con Dao District), and Ho Chi Minh City Marathon Tournament, and got 6 gold medals, 9 silver medals and 10 bronze medals. The provincial karate team participated in the 7th Central-Highlands Karate Tournament (in Gia Lai Province), winning 3 gold, 4 silver and 9 bronze medals. The provincial bodybuilding team won 6 medals (2 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze) at the National Bodybuilding Club Championship (in Da Lat). The province’s beach volleyball team achieved 2 gold medals in men’ and women’ events at the National 2x2 Volleyball Team Tournament.

Khanh Hoa athletes playing for the national sports teams at SEA Games 31 obtained 7 silver medals including 5 medals in indoor volleyball, 1 medal in weightlifting and 1 medal in athletics. Four athletes of Khanh Hoa have been the key players of the national indoor volleyball team. These players also contributed to the silver medal of Sanest Khanh Hoa at the recent National Volleyball Tournament for Strong Teams in Ninh Binh Province.

In athletics, young talent Tran Nhat Hoang couldn’t defend his gold medal at SEA Games 31 due to injury. However, he and his teammates achieved 2 silver medals in relay event. Hoang is training with the national athletics team.

The silver medal in weightlifting of Khanh Hoa athlete Bui Tuan Anh was the best achievement of Vietnam’s weightlifting team in the weight class of 89kg at the 31st SEA Games. This will be a driving force for Khanh Hoa weightlifting athletes to be confident of winning medals at the 9th National Sports Festival.

The province's high-achieving sports teams are facing difficulties in terms of training facilities, especially weightlifting room, according to Nguyen Minh Dat, director of the provincial Sports Technique Training Center. Hopefully, the authorities will make investments in the training facilities to create good conditions for the provincial sports teams to prepare well for the upcoming National Sports Festival as well as tournaments in the future,
