The tournament taking place from July 21 to 31 is joined by 16 U11 teams from many provinces and cities over the country. The teams play in four groups in a single round robin format to decide eight first- and second-placed teams of the group stage for the semi-finals.

At the press conference, the representatives of 16 teams joined the draw for the final round of the tournament. These teams passed the preliminary round taking place in Nghe An Province, Dak Lak Province and Kien Giang Province. The tournament consists of the first prize, second prize, third prize, fair play prize, highest scorer, best goalkeeper, and best player, etc.
The national football tournament for children has been organized by Thieu Nien Tien Phong and Nhi Dong Newspaper and Vietnam Football Federation in the last 26 years. Through the tournament, many talent of Vietnam’s football were discovered, such as Quang Hai, Duy Manh, Dinh Trong, Van Hau, Van Toan, Van Thanh, Duc Huy, Tien Dung, and Xuan Truong.
