The tournament takes place from July 2 to August 20 at the football field of Nha Trang University, joined by eight teams namely Thanh Thanh, Olympic Gym, Tuan Huong, Van Tin, 2T, Friendly, Dong De Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen.

The teams will play in a single round robin format to decide the champion by points. The top two teams of KPL-S3 will represent the central region in the final round VPL-S3, which is scheduled to take place in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City in September, with the six top teams of the northern region (HPL), southern region (SPL), highland region (DPL), and Mekong Delta (CPL).

This is the third time the tournament has been organized in Nha Trang. Saigon Beer-Alcohol-Beverage Corporation is the main sponsor of the tournament. Reportedly, the KPL-S3 matches will be played every Saturday.
