There are many high-achievement and movement sports activities having been scheduled to take place in 2021, such as SEA Games 31, local and national sports festivals. However, most of these sports activities have been postponed for the sake of public health during the outbreak of COVID-19. In early April, Khanh Hoa Province’s 14th Sports Festival kicked off; 15 sports had been planned to take place. However, only cross-country and karate were organized.

The province’s sports sector has suggested that the steering committee of the province’s 9th Sports Festival should push back the festival to May 2022. If the situation is controlled and the province’s leadership allows the activities to resume, the provincial Department of Culture and Sports will organize some sports with limited numbers of events and participants.

Reportedly, the Sports Management Bureau (under the provincial Department of Culture and Sports) has made a plan for sports activities in the province until the end of the year. The province has planed to organize tournaments for adults (with COVID-19 green cards and yellow cards), such as Chinese chess tournaments, beach volleyball, beach football, and sports festival for the elderly. There is no need to hurry to hold tournaments for students under 18 years old, who haven’t been vaccinated against COVID-19.
