Vietnamese players started to familiarize themselves with futsal court in Lithuania and played a friendly with Morocco national futsal team on September 6. According to the regulations of FIFA Futsal World Cup 2021, the participating teams have to wait until September 9 to be entitled to the facilities and accommodations in Lithuania. However, Vietnam Football Federation asked for permission from the organization committee of FIFA Futsal World Cup 2021 and Lithuania so that Vietnam could travel to Lithuania four days earlier to get used with local weather conditions and quickly adapt to the change of time zone and circadian rhythm.

As said by Pham Minh Giang, head coach of Vietnam national futsal team, all the players have been in good conditions and been ready for the competitions in Group D. Vietnam played a friendly with Morocco, the reigning futsal champion of Africa, regular participations at the FIFA Futsal World Cup finals, placing 19th in the world rankings. That offered Vietnamese players a valuable experience to warm up and maintain their form before playing official matches. More than ten days ago, in Spain, Vietnam also had friendlies with three strong futsal teams, which were Japan, Spain and Cordoba Club.
Vietnam were drawn to a tough group in the final round of FIFA Futsal World Cup 2021. In a recent interview, captain Tran Van Vu of Vietnam national futsal team said that thanks to careful preparation and opportunities to play friendlies with strong teams of different countries, Vietnamese players are ready to overcome the challenges in Group D. Vu hopes that Vietnam can progress to the round of 16 as they did five years ago.
16 players taking part in the final round of FIFA Futsal World Cup 2021 were shortlisted from 17 players joining the training camp. Vietnam will play their first match with Brazil on September 14, meet Panama on September 16 and the Czech Republic on September 19.
