2020 LS V-League 2 comes to an end

With a narrow victory against Pho Hien, Binh Dinh eventually won the 2020 LS V-League 2 and the only promotion ticket to V.League1 next year. Sanna Khanh Hoa – Bien Vietnam (S.KH-BVN) finished third after battling Ba Ria-Vung Tau (BR-VT) to a 1-1 draw.

This was an acceptable result for S.KH-BVN as they had to experience a lot of difficulties this season.

There were no surprises in the last round of V-League 2 taking place on October 31. On Quy Nhon Stadium, Binh Dinh optimized their advantage of playing on home ground against Pho Hien, who had no hope for the 2020 championship. Binh Dinh players put Pho Hien defenders under pressure with constant attacks. The goal finally came with a header of Vu Viet Trieu. This goal boosted the confidence of Binh Dinh. However, Pho Hien goalkeeper played brilliantly, saving all of the efforts from the hosts. The only goal of the match was enough for Binh Dinh to claim the 2020 V-League 2 championship, whatever the result of S.KH-BVN and BR-VT.

The final clash between BR-VT and S.KH-BVN on Ba Ria Stadium took place dramatically and ended at the score of 1-1. The draw saw BR-VT become the runners-up and S.KH-BVN come in third in the 2020 LS V-League 2. This result reflected exactly what the teams performed this season, especially in stage 2 when BR-VT could not keep up their form and were surpassed by Binh Dinh in the last two matches. Meanwhile, S.KH-BVN, who were experiencing many difficulties, still play with high determination and efforts to the last minutes.

Many fans of S.KH-BVN sent their words of encouragement through the team’s fanpage to congratulate coach Vo Dinh Tan and the players of S.KH-BVN for completing the season despite several challenges they have been facing this year. The team has suffered the leaves of many key players due to financial difficulties caused by COVID-19 pandemic. They moved from an initially strong favorite for the championship to a team who had to rely on the efforts of young players in the battle for promotion.

The fact that S.KH-BVN could not get promoted to V-League 1 next season still slightly depressed some fans. Under such a difficult circumstance, Khanh Hoa’s football needs to redefine their target and development strategies. If they want to continue to pursuing professional football, they need the financial support from large businesses. Otherwise the province can focus on developing movement football.
