The clash between Sanna Khanh Hoa-Bien Vietnam (S.KH-BVN) and Ba Ria-Vung Tau (BRVT) at 19-8 Nha Trang Stadium at 5pm on July 25 is considered the highlight of V-League 2 round 9. This match is expected to be thrilling because the host S.KH-BVN is believed to play with high determination to strive for points to restore morale.

V-League 2 teams are now in a fierce competition for the six spots in the next round and the only promotion spot to V-League 1 next season. Up to this point, S.KH-BVN and BRVT have proven their high determination for promotion, which they showed right at the beginning of the season, through their points and positions on the table. S.KH-BVN and BRVT are currently placing in top three of V-League 2. Although the upcoming match between the two sides is not yet a decisive one, its results will have a huge impact on the final outcome.

S.KH-BVN were relegated from last year’s V-League 1; meanwhile, BRVT are a new entrant promoted from last Second Division. S.KH-BVN are currently leading the table but only one point ahead third-ranked BRVT. In term players, S.KH-BVN are slightly better with the line-up almost the same as they played in V-League 1 last year. Meanwhile, BRVT have some outstanding players recruited from V-League 1 team Becamex Binh Duong. These players are doing their roles well in connecting the play.

BRVT are hailed as one of the four candidates in the race for promotion to V-League 1 next year. Coach Tran Minh Chien of BRVT led his team to the quarter-final of National Cup 2020. In 2020 V-League 2, BRVT have got a positive result with four wins, three draws, and one loss after eight rounds. In round 8, BRVT had a not bad result with 1 point after a 1-1 home draw against Can Tho Lottery.

Meanwhile, S.KH-BVN’s run of unbeaten matches ended after six rounds. They suffered two consecutive away losses to An Giang (0-2) in round 7 and Hue (0-1) in round 8. Reportedly, the management committee and coaching board of S.KH-BVN recently had a meeting with the leaderships of Khanh Hoa Province and provincial sports sector to solve some difficulties of the team and players. This is good news for S.KH-BVN before the match with BRVT. “It will be not an easy competition. BRVT is a strong team in this year’s V-League 2. However, we will try our best to get the best result,” said coach Vo Dinh Tan of S.KH-BVN.
