The 2019 province-level futsal club contest of Khanh Hoa Province, which took place recently at the provincial Sports Competition Arena, partly reflected the strong development of futsal as wel as the attractiveness of this sport to the localities and businesses over the province. The contest was also regarded as a training playground for young futsal players in the province.

The 2019 edition of the provincial futsal club contest drew a larger number of teams than the previous editions. Fifteen strong teams of the clubs, businesses and localities in the province took part in the contest, namely Thanh Thanh Travel, Olympic Gym, Nam Phuong Khanh Hoa, MTV Dien Khanh, Lucas Dien Khanh, Cam Ranh, and Khanh Vinh. FC Cong Dan, Youth Vinh Hai, Veterinary Sub-Institute, DK FC, and youth Sanvinest were the first-time participants of the contest.

The provincial futsal club contest 2019 was well received by many businesses, which was the highlight of this year’s edition, according to Nguyen Minh Dat, director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Sports Services and Competition Center, deputy chief of organization committee. This will be a driving force for Khanh Hoa to keep invest and develop this sport.
Sanvinest Sanna Khanh Hoa and Sanvinest Sanatech Khanh Hoa are the two professional futsal teams of Khanh Hoa which often participate in the national contests. Besides these professional teams, Khanh Hoa also formed Khanh Hoa Province-based and Ho Chi Minh City-based young teams (U15 and U17). As for opportunities to gain experience and improve skills, the young team which is located in Khanh Hoa (young Sanvinest Khanh Hoa) is at a disadvantage compared with the ones in Ho Chi Minh City.
Therefore, this year, young Sanvinest Khanh Hoa asked to take part in the provincial futsal club contest. The participation of young Sanvinest Khanh Hoa added more excitement to the 2019 contest. Furthermore, this young team showed surprising performances when defeating senior teams to qualify for the final match. The other finalist was strong movement futsal club Nam Phuong Khanh Hoa, the runner-up at the central regional elimination of the National Seven-a-side Football Tournament 2019 (KPL-S1).
Apart from the players who took part in KPL-S1, Nam Phuong Khanh Hoa recruited two quality players of Sanvinest Sanna Khanh Hoa to reinforce their strength at the 2019 provincial futsal club contest. The experienced players of Nam Phuong Khanh Hoa overcame the young ones of young Sanvinest to claim the first prize of the 2019 contest. Finishing second was regarded as a success of young Sanvinest, who initially aimed to learn experience through the competitions.
Khanh Hoa’s futsal has had a successful 2019 season with the championship at HDBank National Cup, second prize at the AFF Futsal Club Championship, and third prize a the national futsal championship. Hopefully, these achievements will further promote the development of Khanh Hoa’s futsal and help to create more playgrounds for young players.
