Khanh Hoa focuses on promoting movement sports and physical education

As said by Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports Vo Ngoc Hung in a statement about the results, achievements and the main sports events of Khanh Hoa's sports, both movement sports and high-achievement sports of the province in recent years have gained some encouraging results.

More and more people at the units and localities across the province are doing physical exercises and taking part in the movement sports activities. 
 
At present, Khanh Hoa has 26 movement sports and 440 sports clubs; 800 physical teachers. The regular sports players make up 35.5% of the population; the number of sports families increased 3-5% compared to 2016. In 2018, the movement sports teams of Khanh Hoa participated in 13 national tournaments; won two gold medals, three silver medals, and four bronze ones. Khanh Hoa’s athlete Chau Hoang Tuyet Loan took part in the weightlifting championships for Asian athletes with disabilities in Japan and Asian Para Games 2018 in Indonesia, where she secured medals in women’s weightlifting event. 
 
Last year, Khanh Hoa organized successfully two provincial volleyball and swimming contests for age groups, attracting a lot junior high and high schools students over the province. The positive response from the participants has been a driving force for the sports sector of Khanh Hoa to keep maintaining the contests and promoting the development of these two sports in schools.

In the high-achievement section, the provincial sports teams of Khanh Hoa also made commendable efforts and gained some encouraging results. For example, Khanh Hoa sports delegation moved up three spots on the rankings, from 25 at the 2014 National Sports Festival to 22 out of 65 delegations at the 2018 edition. Indoor volleyball, futsal, muay Thai, and beach volleyball have been the best sports of Khanh Hoa at the domestic tournaments. 
 
As said by Hung, Khanh Hoa’s leaders have paid attention on promoting the province’s sports activities. The contributions of the businesses and individuals have also helped to create more sports playgrounds in the province. The existing difficulties of Khanh Hoa’s sports sector are the limited land and fund resources for sports and lack of sports instructors. Besides, the monetary allowance for Khanh Hoa athletes is still below the average.  
 
Reportedly, in the upcoming time, Khanh Hoa will focus on improving the quality and effectiveness of sports activities and physical teaching; promoting sports, especially swimming, basketball, and martial arts, in the communities and in schools; developing youth training; investing on the sports which have been the strength of Khanh Hoa at the national sports contests; and encouraging the contributions of the public in sports. 
 
In the beginning of 2019, Khanh Hoa associated with the General Department of Sports, organizations, and units to organize some quality sports events such as the International U-19 Football Tournament 2019 - Thanh Nien Newspaper, National Volleyball Contest, and Olympic Running Day. As planned, there will more national and international sports events to be organized in Khanh Hoa in 2019, for example national futsal championship, jet ski competition, Challenge Vietnam triathlon, and so on.
