Sanest Khanh Hoa volleyball team has been nominated for Chien Thang Cup 2018 thanks to their fourth place at the Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship 2018 taking place in Myanmar from July 30 to August 8. This is the national awards honoring the athletes, coaches, individuals, and collectives who made major contributions for the country's sports in the year.
Sanest Khanh Hoa volleyball team has been nominated for Chien Thang Cup 2018 thanks to their fourth place at the Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship 2018 taking place in Myanmar from July 30 to August 8. This is the national awards honoring the athletes, coaches, individuals, and collectives who made major contributions for the country’s sports in the year.
The Chien Thang Cup comprises many categories: athletes of the year, coach of the year, impressive sports image of the year, team of the year, partner of the year, excellent athlete with disabilities, lifetime achievement, and most favorite athlete. Sanest Khanh Hoa is the candidate for “Team of the Year” category together with Vietnam U23, Hanoi football club, Thai Son Nam futsal club, Can Tho Catfish basketball team, and Olympic football team.

All the candidates other than the ones of lifetime achievement and most favorite athlete categories will go through two round of voting. In the first round, the three candidates of each category will qualify for the second round; the two of them are selected by the nominating council and the other is thanks to the votes from fans (through SMS or website of Chien Thang Cup). In the second round, a secret vote will be held to decide the winner of each category. In case the candidates have the same number of votes, the winner is decided based on the number of SMS votes of the first round. The winners will be announced at the end of January 2019; the awarding ceremony will be broadcast live.
Being nominated for Chien Thang Cup is a great honor of Sanest Khanh Hoa in particular and Khanh Hoa’s volleyball in general. This is also the first time in Vietnam a local volleyball club has been nominated for this national prestigious sports awards. The year of 2018 can be considered as a successful season of Sanest Khanh Hoa. The team has obtained Dam Ca Mau Cup championship, gold medal at the National Sports Festival, and fourth place at Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship.
The volleyball fans in Khanh Hoa are expecting a good result for Sanest Khanh Hoa at the 2018 edition of Chien Thang Cup. Whether the team is crowned or not, this will be a great driving force for the coach and athletes of Sanest Khanh Hoa to keep bidding for the greater achievements in the future tournaments.
Chien Thang Cup, the most prestigious awards of Vietnam’s sports, is organized annually since 2015. It has been jointly held by 24h Sports Joint Stock Company and Vietnam Television Cable and was acknowledged by the General Department of Sports.
