Vietnam's National Sports Festival 2018 officially kicks off

The Eighth National Sports Festival officially kicked off at My Dinh Stadium (Hanoi) on November 25.
 

The Eighth National Sports Festival officially kicked off at My Dinh Stadium (Hanoi) on November 25. Present at the opening ceremony were Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc; Politburo member and Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai; Chief Judge of the Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam Nguyen Hoa Binh; Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam; and leaders of many ministries and departments.
 
The eighth edition of the National Sports Festival takes place in Hanoi, the provinces of Hoa Binh and Khanh Hoa from November 15 to December 10. This is the largest sports event of the country in 2018 with the participation of over 7,000 athletes; 2,500 coaches; and 2,200 reefers.
 
The National Sports Festival is organized every four years since 1990. The 2018 edition includes 36 events, such as athletics, boat race, football, futsal, shooting, archery, judo, taekwondo, boxing, wrestling, fencing, badminton, and tennis.
