Vietnam tops Group A after 3-0 win over Cambodia

Vietnam recorded a final AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 group stage win over Cambodia on November 24, climbing to first place of Group A.
 
Vietnam mostly dominated the game and created many attacks. Goalkeeper Vichet of Cambodia made a good save to stop the fabulous volley of Van Duc in the 15th minute. 
 
In the 39 minute, right wing Trong Hoang delivered a cross to forward Tien Linh who headed Vietnam’s first goal. Vietnam had their second goal just two minutes later as Quang Hai put the ball into the net of Vichet.

In the second half, Cambodia focused on defending and mostly had no effective attacks. Van Duc netted the third and also final goal for Vietnam with 61 minutes on the clock.   
 
The 3-0 victory helped Vietnam to top Group A with 10 points. Malaysia with nine points placed second after beating Myanmar 3-0 on the same day with Vietnam – Cambodia competition. The opponents of Vietnam and Malaysia in the next round will be decided after the final games of Group B on November 25.
