Expectation on Sanest Khanh Hoa at National Futsal Championship – HD Bank 2018

The National Futsal Championship – HD Bank 2018 is seeing the competitions of the return leg. After round 15, Sanatech Sanest Khanh Hoa (S.SKH) is currently sitting second and has been a viable contender for the championship.

The return leg of this year’s National Futsal Championship includes 18 rounds, taking place at Lanh Binh Thang Sports Hall (Ho Chi Minh City) from September 8 to October 2. The last three rounds, starting on September 29, are expected to be more tense and trickier with the competitions of three top teams, Hai Phuong Nam – Gia Dinh University, S.SKH, and the reigning champion Thai Son Nam.

The 7-0 win over Sanna Khanh Hoa in a derby in round 15 helped S.SKH to move to number two on the rankings with 33 points, sharing same points with Hai Phuong Nam – Gia Dinh University but having fewer extra points. Among the top three teams, Thai Son Nam is having the most advantage with only one point fewer than the second-placed team while their next opponents are the teams of lower ranks, which are Hoang Thu FHL Da Nang, Sanna Khanh Hoa, and Kim Toan Da Nang. Meanwhile, S.SKH and Hai Phuong Nam – Gia Dinh University will play each other in the last match of the tournament.

The two representatives of Khanh Hoa’s futsal, Sanna Khanh Hoa and S.SKH, have always been on a par with the strong teams of Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang. Sanna Khanh Hoa was the runner-up at the 2012, 2013, 2016 tournaments and champion at the 2015 tournament. However, at the ongoing National Futsal Championship – HD Bank 2018, Sanna Khanh Hoa put in an under-par performance in most of the matches and is placing seventh. This is mainly because most of the team’s senior players are aging while the young ones have still not had enough experience.

Unlike Sanna Khanh Hoa playing in Khanh Hoa, S.SKH has sets their headquarters in Ho Chi Minh City. This has brought S.SKH more opportunities to take part in the quality tournaments to help the athletes gain experience and improve skills.

After five years joining Vietnam’s professional futsal playground, S.SKH has obtained many remarkable achievements, such as third place in 2013 and 2016, second place in 2014 and 2017. Besides, Nguyen Hoang Anh (born in 1995) and Nguyen Dinh Hung (born in 1989) of S.SKH were called for the national futsal team to prepare for the finals of the AFC Futsal Championship 2018.
