Being held within the framework of the 2017 Sea Festival of Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa, the 2017 beach football tournament of Khanh Hoa is not only a playground for eight teams over the province but also an opportunity to promote Khanh Hoa, a province which has had the strongest beach football movement in Vietnam. Khanh Hoa’s beach football has been well-known not only for the quality of the athletes but also for their nice deed on the ground.
This year’s tournament is sponsored by Sovico Holdings, Vietjet, HDBank, Anna Mandara Evason, Furama, etc. with the money up to VND100 million. The competitions at this year’s tournament seem to be tenser because it is included in the upcoming provincial Physical Exercise and Sports Festival. Another noticeable thing at the 2017 beach football tournament is the absence of many familiar players of last year’s tournament. Most of participants are young players.
“The 2017 national beach football championship is going to take place in the near future. Therefore, we did not send the current members of the provincial team to this tournament. Instead, we prioritize looking for new players to prepare for the future competitions,” said Le Van Tu, member of coaching board of Khanh Hoa’s beach football team.
In the national level playgrounds, Khanh Hoa has always been in top three strongest beach football teams in Vietnam. Since the first organization of the national beach football championship in 2009, Khanh Hoa’s team won three national championship titles, three second prize and one third prize. Many players of Khanh Hoa have also been selected for the national team. However, the players of Khanh Hoa lost the national cup in two consecutive years, 2015 and 2016. They were defeated in the final match. Therefore, looking for new players to enhance the strength of the provincial team is the target of Khanh Hoa’s beach football at the 2017 provincial tournament.
Reportedly, some outstanding players playing at the provincial 2017 tournament have attracted attention of the coaching board of Khanh Hoa’s beach football team. Hopefully, the selected players will contribute effectively to the achievements of the provincial beach football team in the future.
