Tran Quang Thuong, Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Sports Training Center, said, “After the first round of the 2017 National Volleyball Championship – PV GAS in Thai Binh, the coach and some players of Sanest Khanh Hoa were called for the national team by the General Department of Sports and Physical Training – Vietnam Volleyball Federation. This is not only a great honor for the selected individuals but also for the whole team and Khanh Hoa’s sports.” With one coach and five athletes called, Sanest Khanh Hoa is the team having the most members who join the national team this time.
As planned, Vietnam’s national male volleyball squad, containing seventeen athletes and three coaches, will assemble from early May to the end of August. The team will take part in some tournaments, such as AVC Club Tournament, Asian Volleyball Championship and SEA Games 29.
In recent seasons, Sanest Khanh Hoa under the instruction of Coach Trieu Tu Thien has always been one of the promising champions in all tournaments they take part in. The team won two consecutive championship titles at Hung Vuong Cup; secured championship at Dam Ca Mau 2016 and Hoa Lu Cup 2017; placed second at the 2016 National Volleyball Championship – PV GAS. The players of Sanest Khanh Hoa kept maintaining their top position in Vietnam’s volleyball with all games unbeaten at the first round of the 2017 National Volleyball Championship.
Reportedly, beside Ngo Van Kieu and Tu Thanh Thuan, who have had many times playing for the national team, Coach Trieu Tu Thien and other players are the debutants. The achievements of Sanest Khanh Hoa are the result of the supports from Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company, efforts of the players and especially endeavor of Coach Trieu Tu Thien who led the team to get through crisis period.
“We are very happy to play for the national team. This is an honor and also a big responsibility which we need to exert ourselves to fulfill it well,” shared Trieu Tu Thien.
