Interregional road connecting Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan and Lam Dong approved in principle

At Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Council’s 7th session, delegates of the Provincial People's Council have voted to approve the Resolution on the implementation of and funding allocation for the interregional road project connecting Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan and Lam Dong, from Yang Bay - Ta Gu connecting with the National Highway 27C and Provincial Road DT.707, Phuoc Binh Commune, Bac Ai District, Ninh Thuan Province.


According to Tran Manh Dung, Standing Vice- Chairman of Provincial People’s Council, approving in principle the project on the interregional route connecting Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan and Lam Dong, from Yang Bay – Ta Gu linking with the National Highway 27C and the Provincial Road ĐT.707, Phuoc Binh Commune, Bac Ai District, Ninh Thuan Province, the province pledged to use nearly VND122 billion from the local budget reserve in the 2021-2025 period and more than VND808 billion from the local budget in the 2026-2030 period to implement this project. During the implementation, if the capital increases compared to the total approved by the National Assembly, the locality will be responsible for additional funding to ensure the project meets schedule and quality standards.

 

The regional route connecting Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan and Lam Dong is expected to facilitate comprehensive socio-economic development, promote connection between Khanh Son District, Khanh Vinh District and key economic ones to the north of the province, enhance regional link with mountainous areas of Ninh Thuan and Lam Dong, and contribute to ensuring national defense and security.


The project will contribute to the implementation of resolutions of the Politburo, the Government and the National Assembly on the construction and development of Khanh Hoa Province till 2030, with a vision to 2045.


The project will add one more road link, besides the merely route Provincial Road 9 connecting National Highway 1 through Cam Ranh City to Khanh Son District. Besides creating favorable conditions for socio-economic development in the two mountainous districts of Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh, the inter-regional connectivity between Khanh Hoa and the two provinces of Ninh Thuan and Lam Dong will promote comprehensive socio-economic development of the 3 provinces; forming a traffic axis in the North - South direction, connecting Provincial Road 9 with Song Cau - Yang Bay Road (Provincial Road DT.654C) to National Highway 27C (the route connecting Nha Trang City with Da Lat City).


This project also improves the inter-district and inter-commune traffic systems in the areas where the road passes; facilitating infrastructure development, socio-economic development, according to the criteria of inter-regional connection projects stated in Resolution No. 973, 2020 of the National Assembly Standing Committee. This route, when completed, promises to have positive impacts to achieve the goal of lifting Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh out of the list of poor districts.


The inter-regional route connecting Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan and Lam Dong is a national key project subject to investment policy decision by the National Assembly and investment decision by the Prime Minister.

Preliminarily, the project has a total investment of about VND1,930 billion, including VND1,000 billion from the central capital and VND930 billion from the local budget, with a total length of about 56.9km, including 29.3km in Khanh Vinh District and 27.6km in Khanh Son District; 2 lanes, 9m-wide roadbed, 6m road surface, of technical standards for 4-class mountainous roads; the first point intersecting the National Highway 27C at Km 16+900 (250m east of Cau River), in Song Cau Commune (Khanh Vinh District); and the ending point in the border area of Khanh Hoa Province and Ninh Thuan Province (or Thanh Son Commune, Khanh Son District in Khanh Hoa Province and Phuoc Binh Commune of Bac Ai District in Ninh Thuan Province).
