Local authorities have organized numerous activities to ensure a happy and fulfilled New Year for everyone. In Ninh Hoa Town, the political system is focusing on the New Year celebration for local residents.
Ensuring sufficient supply of necessities
According to Nguyen Thi Hong Xuan, Head of Ninh Hoa Town Division of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs, 19,509 vulnerable poor people and social welfare beneficiaries are at risk of food shortages during the holiday season and between-crop period 2023.
To ensure each person is offered 15kg of rice. The Town People’s Committee has suggested the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs would provide consultancy for the Provincial People’s Committee to fund additional 292 tons of rice for the needy.

According to the leader of the Town Division of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs, the Party and the State’s policies are to ensure sufficient necessities for the Lunar New Year holiday.
Last lunar New Year holiday, more than 27,000 residents in the town were offered over 400 tons of rice in total. The assistance helped ease some of their financial burdens.
Numerous meaningful activities
Besides assistance for the poor and vulnerable, several meaningful activities will be held to ensure a fulfilled and happy New Year for everyone. According to Le Minh Tam, Vice-Chairman of Ninh Hoa Town People’s Committee, the care for poor people, children in need, vulnerable older people, disabled people is the paramount concern during the Lunar New Year.
Accordingly, more than 1,000 struggling families and thousands of others with mental disorder, disabilities or vision loss in the town will receive New Year gifts worth VND250,000 each. Dozens of kids at private social service establishments at Phat Buu Pagoda and Anh Dao Orphanage will be offered additional VND50,000/day/child for meals during the 4 New Year holiday.
The Town Red Cross is mobilizing donations to give New Year gifts to orphans, vulnerable and disabled children. Besides, the town leader will visit revolutionary veterans; convey longevity greeting by the State President to 8 centenarians.
Ninh Hoa Town Fatherland Front Committee has cooperated with local authorities; political and social organizations; and the Red Cross to implement the 2023 New Year campaign, ensuring the assistance goes where it is most needed and effective with New Year gifts reaching to all poor people, Agent Orange victims and vulnerable people, according to Cao Minh Thang, Chairman of Ninh Hoa Town Fatherland Front Committee.
This year, under the direction of the Town Party Committee, People’s Committee, Fatherland Front Committee and political and social organizations in the locality will continue calling for donations from individuals and organizations to organize activities for the Lunar New Year celebration to care for material and mental life of residents, especially policy beneficiaries, ethnic minority people, poor families, children and the elderly in hardship.
