Nha Trang City Red Cross has implemented several charity activities  effectively  since the beginning of the year. Numerous programs to provide assistance for the needy are being held in May in response to the Action Month for Charity 2022.
 
Assistance for struggling families
 
Vo Van Tan, Van Dang 1 Village, Vinh Luong Commune, Nha Trang City is so happy to live in a new home built by Nha Trang City Red Cross in early April. He had lived in a worn-down house for more than 20 years. In 2021, Nha Trang City Red Cross mobilized benefactors to provide VND50 million for his family. Together with VND10 million saving, his family has  a new house to live in. “I’m so happy to have such a new house. We no longer worry when the rainy season comes. My children are grown up and going to get married. The wedding will be held more formally in new house.”
 
Nha Trang City Red Cross has implemented “Each organization or individual is attached with one humanitarian address” campaign since the beginning of the year and mobilized donations totaling VND270 million from organizations and individuals to build 4 houses for those in housing need in Vinh Luong Commune and Van Thanh Ward; offered food valued at more than VND40 million to 150 families.

New Year gifts to disadvantaged families.
 
 
Phuoc Hoa Ward Red Cross alone has also mobilized donation to provide regular VND300,000 aid each to 61 families. Implementing the campaign “Lunar New Year for the poor and Agent Orange victims 2022, Phuoc Hoa Ward Red Cross and its affiliations have mobilized donations and offered 7,260 gifts worth over VND2.6 billion; provided assistance for 3,100 people needy old people and disabled children with a total cost of over VND 862 million.
 
Regarding epidemic prevention and response activities, the Red Cross at all levels has mobilized VND186 million relief for 450 people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, since the beginning of the year, the Red Cross at all levels has implemented many health care programs; organized seminars on how to prevent summer diseases, dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease; provided health counseling for the elderly, Covid-19 prevention and control; given free medical check-up and medicines for more than 300 poor people and people in need; mobilized VND45 million assistance to offer rice, vegetables and cash to charity hospital kitchens.
 
Responding to Action Month for Charity 
 
According to Le Van Hoa, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial Red Cross,  Nha Trang City Red Cross has done good job in charity work. Khanh Hoa Provincial Red Cross at all levels plans to mobilize donations worth VND2 billion to help those who need it the most in the charity month this year..
 
In response to the Charity Month 2022 from May 1-31, the Red Cross has strived to mobilize recourses to help more than 1,000 people in need. Themed "Connecting communities and spreading charitable acts", the Red Cross of 27 communes and wards has developed plans to mobilize resources to join effort in giving humanitarian gifts to needy members of Nha Trang City Association for the Blind; providing free medical examination and medicines for poor children on the Bich Dam Island, Vinh Nguyen Ward; providing training on first aid for drowning prevention among students and propagating Covid-19 control and safety measures, according to Le Quoc Thinh, Chairman of Nha Trang City Red Cross.
 
In May, Nha Trang City Red Cross and its affiliations also responded to the 2 key programs "Safety for poor and disadvantaged fishermen" and "Nutrition for poor and disabled children" launched by Vietnam Red Cross to develop sustainable livelihoods for disadvantaged fishing households and ensure essential nutritional food for needy and disabled children, helping improve their life standards.
