Orientation training for VIE071 project

Khanh Hoa Representative Board of the Association of the Elderly in cooperation with the HelpAge International (HAI) held a virtual orientation training meeting for the VIE071 project on reducing income and health related vulnerability of older persons in Vietnam on April 6.
 
At the event, HAI experts introduced about sustainable strategies of the project, self-help clubs, aging population issues and the model “the elderly with clubs”; establishment and management of clubs; skills and activities for club meetings.
 
The meeting was to help local departments, agencies and authorities understand more about the VIE 071 project sponsored by the government of Japan through the World Bank; as well as enhance the participation of elder persons in the project activities.
 
Reportedly, 10 intergenerational self-help clubs have been founded across the province with 6 in Nha Trang City, 2 in Cam Lam District and 2 in Ninh Hoa Town. 10 more clubs are expected to be set up in Nha Trang City, Dien Khanh District and Khanh Vinh District in 2022.
