Khanh Hoa Newspaper was initially named Thang Newspaper with the first publication on April 26, 1947 and then renamed Thong Tin (Information), Gio Moi (New Wind) and Giai Phong (Liberation).
The newspaper was renamed Khanh Hoa Giai Phong in October 1975 after the National Reunification Day; and then Phu Khanh Newspaper when the two newspapers: Khanh Hoa Newspaper and Phu Yen Newspaper were merged into Phu Khanh Newspaper as the 2 provinces of Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa were merged into Phu Khanh Province in November 1975.

In July 1989, Khanh Hoa Province was re-established as Phu Khanh was split into two provinces as they were before. The first issue of Khanh Hoa Newspaper was published on July 1, 1989 with 2 editions/ week.
Its online version formerly known as Khanh Hoa News Portal was founded on April 2, 2003 and then upgraded into Khanh Hoa News Online on the occasion of Khanh Hoa Newspaper’s 70th anniversary (April 26, 2017).
Khanh Hoa Newspaper has received many honorable awards such as the first-class labor order in 1997 and the third-class labor order in 2007.
