After 10 year of foundation, Vietnam - Cambodia Association of Friendship of Khanh Hoa Province has held several practical activities to promote international togetherness between Khanh Hoa residents and Cambodian people.
Promoting people-to-people relations
Vietnam - Cambodia Association of Friendship of Khanh Hoa Province was established in 2011, developing from 3 branches with 297 members to 7 branches with more than 1,000 members. The Vietnam - Cambodia Association of Friendship has organized practical activities to strengthen the relationship between people of the two countries. The association jointly with Khanh Hoa Union of Friendship Organizations holds exchange meetings with Cambodian students in Khanh Hoa anually on the occasion of Chol Chnam Thmay New Year and Independence Day of Cambodia. The Association has integrated its activities with events held by the Central Vietnam - Cambodia Association of Friendship, Cambodia - Vietnam Association of Friendship and Khmer-Vietnamese Association. Members have opportunities to take tours to Cambodia every year to visit the old battlefield.

In 2021, in order to support the Khmer Vietnamese Association in Stung Treng Province (Cambodia) in Covid-19 prevention and control, the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of the province mobilized and donated more than 40,000 medical face masks, 10 boxes of fish sauce and VND5 million in cash.
According to Nguyen Van Chinh, Chairman of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of the province, thanks to much support and cooperation of the provincial People's Committees together with the direction of the Government, the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of the province has carried out many activities to strengthen the friendship between people in Khanh Hoa and Cambodia. Activities organized by the association have left a good impression of Vietnamese people in general and Khanh Hoa residents in particular on Cambodian people.
Continuing strengthening friendship
Speaking at the 3rd Provincial Congress of Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association, Dinh Van Thieu, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee highly appreciated the Vietnam - Cambodia Association of Friendship’s contribution to the local socio-economic development and hoped that the association would continue promoting the people-to-people relations diplomacy to reinforce and strengthen the friendship of the 2 provinces of Khanh Hoa and Stung Treng as well as people of the 2 countries, look to improving local living standards, promote household business to create favorable conditions for members to take part in activities of the association.
Recently, the 3rd Provincial Congress of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association, term 2022 - 2027, has reached a consensus on the main task of the association in the coming time to continue contribution to enhancing the relationship between the two countries, Vietnam and Cambodia: "Good neighborliness, traditional friendship, and comprehensive, sustainable and long-term cooperation". The Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association will strengthen propaganda and education for its members, and all citizens, especially the young generation, about the close relationship between the two countries, as well as between Khanh Hoa and Stung Treng; organize more exchange and friendship activities with Cambodian people living and studying in the province...
Speaking at the congress, Le Hong Liem, Vice-Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association suggested that in the coming time, the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Khanh Hoa Province would promote propaganda for friendship between the Party, the Government and people of the two countries; integrate the activities of the association into those of local departments and localities to increase efficiency. About 200 Cambodian students are taking courses at universities and academies in Khanh Hoa, so the association needs to provide them more support in everyday life and organize more exchange activities for students and members of the two countries in order to contribute to maintaining the long-lasting friendship.
Consulate General of Cambodia in Ho Chi Minh City, Sok Dareth hoped that the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association would continue boosting exchange activities between the people of the two countries in general and between residents of Khanh Hoa and Stung Treng, as well as other provinces of Cambodia in particular; especially look to maintaining and promoting international togetherness and friendship between the young generations to enhance mutual understanding, contributing to strengthening comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
