Providing student aid

Nguyen Thi Kim Thi, Binh Ba Tay Village, Cam Binh Commune, an 11th grader at Phan Boi Chau High School, Cam Ranh City is from a disadvantaged family. She could hardly complete education to fulfill her dream of becoming a teacher without the assistance of Binh Ba Border Station officials and soldiers. They have sponsored the child from the grade 6 to grade 12.  The soldiers help her family regularly monitor her learning via school reports, offer study items, provide VND500,000/ month as well as motivate her in study to gain good results. In the 2020 – 2021 school year, her study was graded good. “I would like to thank soldiers in Binh Ba Border Station for their assistance to help me with my academic pursuits. I will try my best in study to reciprocate their support and turn my dream of becoming a teacher to come true,” she said.

According to Colonel Nguyen Thanh Ha, Political Director of the Provincial Border Guard, for the past 5 years, the Party Committee and Headquarters of Khanh Hoa Border Defense Force have directed the implementation of schooling assistance and sponsorship programs, gaining practical effectiveness.

In addition to propaganda and mobilization for officials and solders’ voluntary contribution to the aid funding, the Provincial Border Guard has sought for donations from other social resources to help disadvantaged children with their academic pursuits.

The Party Committees, the Government at all levels together with local people have highly appreciated the good deeds which have helped confirm and promote the shining good images of “Uncle Ho's soldiers", contributing to building a solid border defense foundation in maritime border areas.
