The Navy Region 4 started a trip on December 25 to bring New Year 2022 gifts from the mainland to soldiers and residents on the Spratly Islands.
 
The missions are on 4 ships carrying hundreds of packages of necessities and New Year gifts for residents and soldiers on the Spratly Islands and patrol ships. Le Dinh Hai, Chairman of Truong Sa District People’s Committee, Head of the mission said, “This trip faces many difficulties due to unfavorable weather, but all officers, soldiers and members of the mission are determined to successfully complete the task and ensure absolute safety.
 
Over the years, the army and people of Truong Sa Island District have received much concern from the Party, State, socio-political organizations, authorities and people of Khanh Hoa Province, the Army, Vietnam People's Navy and Navy Region 4. It is of great encouragement for the district officials, soldiers and people to overcome difficulties and successfully complete assigned duties.”

Like previous years, there are New Year gifts for cadres, soldiers and people on the Spratly Islands from Khanh Hoa Province, organizations, businesses and individuals nationwide apart from items and gifts as regulated by Vietnam People's Navy, Naval Region 4's Headquarters.

According to Rear-Admiral Ngo Van Thuan, political commissar of the Naval Region 4's Headquarters to assure sufficient necessities and New Year gifts for soldiers and residents on the Spratly Islands, the Navy Region 4 has chosen products from safe sources with good quality and at reasonable prices. 
 
The Navy’s Brigade 146 has surveyed reputable businesses for the purchase of the items to ensure the supply of food for the festive holiday such as pork, beef, poultry, noodles, spring rolls, candies. Fresh vegetables kept in specialized containers; decorative plants and flowers are carefully packaged and arranged onboard to assure safety during transportation.
 
At the see-off ceremony for the mission on the New Year visit to the Spratly Islands, Dinh Van Thieu, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee said the Navy Region 4’s trip to the Spratly Islands to visit residents and soldiers on the Spratly Islands on the occasion of the coming Lunar New Year had shown great concern and affection of the Party, the State and people for soldiers and residents on the far-off islands as well as the national marine sovereignty protection.
 
Dinh Van Thieu conveyed greetings to residents and soldiers on the Spratly Islands and wished them fulfill assigned duties and lead a happy and safe New Year.
