Khanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard’s Military Medical Force has constantly fulfilled their responsibilities and promoted enthusiasm in the fight against the Covid-19 outbreak, contributing to protecting the health of officers, doctors, soldiers and residents.
 
Since early 2021 with the resurgence of Covid-19, the Military Medical Force has strictly followed pandemic prevention and control policies; and proposed measures adapting to their specific tasks. The Provincial Border Guard’s Military Medical Force has provided consultancy on the implementation of Covid-19 prevention and control measures under the motto "4 in one spot"; strictly abided by the regulations known as "prompt detection; rapid contact tracing and isolation; and effective treatment", preventing the spread of the virus, according to Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Minh, who is in charge of the Provincial Border Guard’s Military Medical Force.

During the epidemic peak, military medical officers together with soldiers have taken trips to give residents instructions on how to prevent and combat the epidemic, and mobilize everyone, especially fishermen, to join effort against illegal immigration.
 
Captain Bui Phu Nghia, Vinh Luong Border Guard’s military medical officer said, "We have paid home visits to raise public awareness of epidemic prevention and control. In particular, we are always on high alert for detecting suspected cases for prompt screening and response to prevent community transmission."
 
During the pandemic outbreak in many localities in the province, the Provincial Border Guard’s Military Medical Force along with other border guard stations has coordinated with other forces to conduct mass testing in major locations such as Vinh Truong, Vinh Phuoc (Nha Trang City), Ninh Hai, Ninh Thuy, Ninh Phuoc (Ninh Hoa Town); promoting capacities and gaining experience in helping people in the face of the pandemic.
 
Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Minh said: “The task of the Border Guard’s military medical force is to take care of the health of its officers and soldiers; jointly provide free health examination and distribution of medicines for residents; and launch propaganda on prevention and control of common diseases in border areas. The military medical staff has proactively responded to the Covid-19 outbreak, ensuring safety for the unit; and coordinated with localities to distribute face masks, hand sanitizer and propagate epidemic prevention, contributing to the epidemic control and protection of residents’ health."
 
In 2020, the Provincial Border Defense’s Military Medical Force arranged 7 quarantine drives for citizens from overseas to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and avoid cross transmission in quarantine areas. Since early 2021, the Provincial Military Medical Force has held 27 propaganda sessions for nearly 2,000 people, distributed more than 4,500 leaflets about coronavirus; mobilized more than 10,000 families and boat owners to sign commitments against Covid-19 and illegal immigration; maintained 23 checkpoints at sea and on land with the participation of 11,000 cadres and soldiers; founded 1 centralized quarantine facility with 40 beds; and arranged 20 quarantine drives for officers and soldiers epidemiologically linked with Covid-19 cases to ensure safety for the unit.
