Over the time, the Fatherland Front and organizations in Van Ninh District have organized many practical and meaning activities to support local residents affected by Covid-19.
 
Assistance for residents struggling due to Covid-19
 
The district Fatherland Front Committee has mobilized and received more than VND1.4 billion for Covid-19 vaccines and launched donations to pandemic prevention and control in the district. Each official donates at least one day’s pay to the Covid-19 response. The local Covid-19 Relief Fund has received over VND905 million in support of disadvantaged people and staff working at check-points. Especially, the Fatherland Front at all levels has received donations of more than VND605 million, more than 45 tons of rice, 230 cardboard boxes of instant noodles, 132 cardboard boxes of drinking water, 2,048 boxes of milk, 300 bottles of fish sauce, 100 bottles of laundry detergent, 1,100 bottles of cooking oil, 1,100 portions of seasoning, 500 eggs, more than 4 tons of vegetables and fruits to help those in need, according to Nguyen Duc Hoa, Deputy Chairman of the district Fatherland Front Committee.

Receiving gifts containing necessities and cash, Nguyen Duc Ly, a poor family in Dam Mon Village, Van Thanh Commune said, “I have mobility difficulties after an occupational accident. My family mainly completely depends on my wife’s modest income. The financial hardship has become more extreme due to Covid-19 outbreak. This is the second time my family has been offered the aid.”
 
Le Thi Hong, Van Phuoc Commune, said, “I used to earn around VND100,000/ day from selling noodles on the sidewalk. Now I have no income due to the pandemic. The assistance has helped reduce my hardship through the tough time.”
 
Expanding good deeds
 
Together with the Fatherland Front, organizations in the district have also implemented several practical activities to improve care and promote support for local residents. From the call of the district Labor Confederation, 45 grassroots trade Unions have donated necessities and over VND67 million to help workers struggling during the pandemic.
 
The district Trade Union has mobilized and donated more than 5,000 masks and 450 gifts totaling VND100 million to workers and residents in lockdown areas. The district Women's Union has cooperated with other units to open a “Free fair” to support hundreds of households in blockaded areas; giving more than 200 gifts, containing necessities to households in need; received and distributed more than 4 tons of vegetables to people in 10 communes and towns. 
 
The assistance received and donated by the district Women’s Union has reached more than VND800 million. Besides, the district Farmers’ Association, Veterans’ Association and Red Cross has received, distributed and donated thousands of gifts to residents in 13 communities.
 
Moreover, many individuals in the district have joined the contribution to help those facing difficulties. Nguyen Xuan Ngoc and Truong Thi Hoa Moc Lan in Van Gia Town offered VND130 million and 6 tons of rice; Le Quang Toan in Van Tho Commune donated 3 tons of rice; Nguyen Dang in Van Gia Town: 3 tons of rice; Van Thanh Trung and Tran Quang Chau in Van Phu Commune: 70 gifts worth VND300,000 each, etc.
 
Besides caring for residents and helping them stabilize life, the district Fatherland Front and organizations have also strictly monitored the distribution of rice offered by the Government and ensured the release of assistance under the Resolution 68 to the eligible. The pandemic response activities will be promoted together with assistance reaching out to more in need, according to Huynh Ngoc Tho, Chairman of the district Fatherland Front Committee.
