Nguyen Tan Tuan, Vice-Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee presided over a meeting with local departments and agencies and Nha Trang City on Covid-19 prevention and control on May 2. Also present at the event were Nguyen Hai Ninh, Central Party Committee Member, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Dinh Van Thieu, Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee.
 
Many cities and provinces have recently reported locally transmitted cases of the coronavirus so the provincial People’s Committee, State agencies and localities are to tighten surveillance to prevent the outbreak, confirmed the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hai Ninh at the meeting.
 
Accordingly, all residents must wear masks in public places. All bars, spa, massage service, karaoke parlors and discotheques were ordered to close as from 18:00 on May 2 over Covid-19 fears. Localities were asked to step up supervision, boost Covid-19 propaganda in communities and make sure those rerunning from epidemic areas complete medical declaration, get tested and home quarantined. Only traditional rituals of religious activities are allowed and large gatherings are banned.

The Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Tan Tuan requested the sectors of tourism, industry and trade to instruct businesses to complete medical  declaration by scanning QR code; the Department of Health to cooperate with the Department of Tourism and relevant agencies to boost inspection on Covid-19 control and prevention at hotels served as quarantine facilities. The Provincial People’s Committee encouraged work and administrative procedures to be performed online. The education sector was asked to enhance the pandemic prevention and control and ensure good preparation for the final-term and graduation examinations.
 
Tight preventive measures against Covid-19 have been implemented in Khanh Hoa. The province has cancelled the fireworks display and all art and cultural activities; reduced the scale of the Ponagar Temples Festival and required for the compliance with the Ministry of Health’s “5K” guidelines and recommendations.
