The Youth Union campaign in Khanh Hoa Province has expanded with several practical activities over years. The Youth Union has continued confirming its role as a reliable force of the local Party Committee and authorities, contributing greatly to the renovation, construction and growth of Khanh Hoa Province.
Promotion and inheritance of traditions
Together with the youth campaign nationwide, Khanh Hoa youth campaign has developed since 1925 – 1930. Especially, after the foundation day of the Provincial Communist Party Committee (24-2-1930), Communist Youth affiliations developed rapidly in some localities. Khanh Hoa youth joined liberation struggles against French and American imperialism. The Youth Union construction was accompanied with the development of the teenager and children campaigns.
A temporary provincial Youth Union Executive Committee was founded in December 1970 during the fierce war time. After 3 years of construction and consolidation, in late November 1973, the first Representative Congress of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Youth Union was convened at K5 - Hon Mua base in Vinh Hiep Commune, Vinh Khanh District (presently Khanh Vinh District). Since then, Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the province has held 11 congresses. The youth has always taken the lead in all missions, worth the trust of the Communist Party and people in all circumstances, during the resistance wars to defend the home country or in Socialist construction period.

Inheriting and promoting ancestors’ traditions, in the past tenures, the Youth Union at all levels has made constant efforts to improve activities. In the 2002-2007 term, with 2 major campaigns on “socio-economic development and homeland defense”; and “start-up support for young people”, Khanh Hoa youth has clearly showed their proactive role in getting involved in the local socio-economic development and national construction and defense.
In the 2012-2017 term, the Youth Union at all levels implemented 42 provincial youth projects and more than 300 district-level youth projects; undertook nearly 3,700 projects with a total value of nearly VND30 billion. In the 2017-2022 term, with the deployment of 3 major Youth Union campaigns and 3 youth programs, the youth of the province has carried out more than 4,000 youth projects and thousands of volunteer activities for the community with a total value more than VND30 billion, contributing to the implementation of 4 socio-economic development programs of the province and successful implementation of the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress, term 2015-2020.
Contribution to renovation campaigns
Bui Hoai Nam, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union said, along with the development of youth action movements, Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the province has been constantly strengthened and expanded with nearly 70,000 members belonging to 247 grassroots Youth Union affiliations and more than 3,200 branches so far. Every year, the youth gets involved in thousands of youth activities in Khanh Hoa, contributing to new rural development, civilized urban growth, socio-economic development, bringing economic values in the community.
Youth programs have added some new activities, notably the implementation of youth projects on building new rural areas; building and protecting Truong Sa; joining international volunteering activities, volunteering for the community, fighting against Covid-19 pandemic, helping recover from storms and floods, etc.
In order to promptly meet the youth, teenagers and children’s needs, the Provincial Youth Union at all levels has strengthened and improved Youth Union campaigns and gained satisfactory results. In particular, propaganda and education have been reformed, especially the promotion of technological application, social networks and propaganda. Through training courses on advanced scientific and technical transfer and social policy bank loans, many economic models owned by young people have been formed, contributing to poverty reduction and economic development in the whole province. Many startup projects of students and young people have been supported through activities implemented by the Youth Union such as meetings, dialogues with businesses; youth creativity contests, start-up ideas and so on.
In addition, the youth unity and solidarity network has constantly expanded with the strong development of the Youth Federation and its member organizations. The Provincial Comrade Associate has gained significant achievements and take the leading position in the national comrade campaign, deserving its role as a reliable reserve force of the Youth Union.
The international work has much improved with several exchange programs with other ASEAN countries, international cooperation programs with Attapeu Province (Laos), contributing to the success of people-to-people relations. In the emulation movement, the Provincial Youth Union has been recognized “excellent” in the campaign of the national youth, teenagers and children for consecutive years and was awarded the Prime Minister’s leading flag in the emulation movement in 2012.
Bui Hoai Nam affirmed that following the tradition, Khanh Hoa's youth will strive to practice virtue, develop skills, learn to follow Uncle Ho's teaching, always in the frontline in the national construction and defense. Youth action and training campaigns are committed to fulfilling assigned tasks and responsibilities, ensuring the successful implementation of the Resolution of the Eighteenth Provincial Party Congress and the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party, contributing youth vigor to the homeland construction and development.
