When Tet comes, border soldiers leave their personal happiness behind to be on duty guarding the  coasts and borders and ensuring a safe, peaceful and happy holiday for everyone.
 
During the first days of the Lunar New Year 2021, national defense officers, soldiers and staff of the provincial Border Guard Force synchronously performed the management and protection of the sea and island borders, strictly complied with regulations on combat readiness; closely and effectively combined the task of border protection, political security and social order; and Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control.

The Border Defense Headquarters ensured officers and soldiers’ compliance with documents from higher authorities. During the Tet holiday, many officers and soldiers had to put aside their family affairs to take dual tasks of managing and protecting national sovereignty and national border security, and effectively combating the epidemic to ensure a happy, safe and peaceful Lunar New Year holiday, according to Colonel Tran Quoc Toan, Commander of Khanh Hoa Border Defense Force Headquarters.
 
Lieutenant Colonel Tran Trang, Director of Cam Ranh Border Guard Station says the agency is in charge of managing 9 border communes and wards. Before, during and after the Lunar New Year, the unit has proactively organized forces to localities to closely coordinate with local police, military force and authorities to assess actual situations as well as Lunar New Year celebration, propagandize and mobilize people to strictly follow Covid-19 guidance.
 
Along with ensuring people celebrate Tet, safe and sound, border posts and squadrons throughout the province implemented combat readiness plans to ensure order and security, and strictly maintained the regime of commanding and official duties to deal with any emergencies when required. Besides, the force strengthened coordination with functional units to strictly maintain duty at border checkpoints, strictly check people and vehicles through sea border areas; overseas Vietnamese returning home and tourists in the locality and prevent the spread of Covid-19. On February 10- 16, the Provincial Border Defense Force carried out procedures for 521 travelers from 18 countries and territories and 4,130 domestic tourists to take island tours in the province; handled immigration procedures for 13 vehicles, 256 crew members, 53,658 tons of goods; sent 92 groups/ 368 officers and soldiers to assess the situations, paid Lunar New Year visits and celebrated Tet with locals.
 
“The post is our home; the border is our country; our compatriots are our siblings” is not only a slogan but also a command inspired in the hearts of border officers and soldiers. The cadres and soldiers of the Provincial Border Defense Force are always with unswerving determination to carry out assigned military tasks to maintain coast and border security for citizens’ safe, peaceful and happy Tet holiday.
