Cam Ranh International Airport held a ceremony to receive the Airport Health Accreditation (AHA) by the Airports Council International (ACI) on December 29 with the attendance of Nguyen Anh Tuan, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa People’s Committee. The event was moved online due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic COVID-19 in the world.
 
Reportedly, the ACI Airport Health Accreditation program enables airports to demonstrate to passengers, staff, regulators, and governments that they are prioritizing passenger health and safety through practical safety measures in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
To achieve the Airport Health Accreditation, Cam Ranh International Airport has undergone assessment of health and safety measures, including cleaning and disinfection; physical distancing, staff protection, physical layout, passenger communications and passenger facilities.

Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyen Ba Quan, Director of Cam Ranh International Airport said in 2019, Cam Ranh International Airport served 10 million of passenger arrivals, including 6.5 million international ones. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the airport has handled 72 flights from many countries, bringing 10,680 Vietnamese citizens and foreign experts to Vietnam; safely served 3.5 million passengers from and to Khanh Hoa.
 
Cam Ranh International Airport’s Health Accreditation shows that it is committed to health and safety procedures to be considered as a safe destination meeting pandemic control standards in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The leader of Cam Ranh International Airport thanked the Airports Council International (ACI) and the Airport Health Accreditation program for the assessment of the maintenance and boost of health and safety measures against COVID-19 at Cam Ranh International Airport.
 
Luis Felipe de Oliveira, ACI World Director General confirmed 2020 is a tough year for the airport industry due to the impacts of COVID-19. The Airport Health Accreditation certifies that Cam Ranh International Airport is prioritizing health and safety measures. Airports are important components of air industry, contributing to economic promotion, welfare boost and job creation. Air travel is a key driver for a global economic recovery from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Cam Ranh International Airport is a good example for others to learn and exchange experience to improve passenger service and promote community trust.
 
Reportedly, Cam Ranh International Airport is the fourth airport to achieve Airport Health Accreditation for cooperated effort in the battle against COVID-19 for nearly a year to assure health and safety of passengers.
 
Under Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, Airports Corporation of Vietnam Company (ACV), State management agencies on pandemic prevention and control; Cam Ranh International Airport together with relevant agencies have confidently pledged to maintain effective practices and measures against COVID-19 and improve infrastructures to enhance passenger service and safety, contributing to meeting tourism stimulus targets regulated by Khanh Hoa People’s Committee in Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa in 2021.
