Universities and institutes in Nha Trang– Khanh Hoa have welcomed thousands of foreign students from other countries to study and conduct research for years, contributing to strengthening the solidarity and friendship between Khanh Hoa residents and citizens of other countries.
 
The presence of foreign students in Khanh Hoa for several years has further enhanced cultural exchange between local students and foreign ones, between Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa residents and people of other nationalities. There are foreign students at such universities as Nha Trang University, Khanh Hoa University, Telecommunications University, Air Force Officer Training School and Navy Academy. Besides, studies, the foreign students have also taken part in cultural exchange programs and sporting activities on the occasion of their national holidays and New Year’s Days. KhamMeexay Chanvilaivanh, a Lao student said, “We received much concern from Nha Trang University during our study here as well as in other exchange activities to learn more about local characters. Especially, the school has organized meaningful activities to mark our important holidays and New Year’s Day.”

According to Khanh Hoa University, Khanh Hoa University has signed cooperation agreements over the past 5 years with 6 international schools, namely Jeanne D’arc Saint-Ivy, European Academy of Art in Brittany (France); Institute of Cleaner Production Technology, Pukyong National University (Korea); and Kazan Federal University (Russia). Teacher and student exchange; and research and training cooperation have maintained regularly. Besides studies, the school has organized cultural and foreign exchange activities to promote international togetherness between local and foreign students.
 
Nha Trang University has established relationships with more than 70 universities and fisheries institutes worldwide. Since 2016, the school has signed and re-newed 58 cooperation agreements with foreign partners; welcomed 37 Lao students in undergraduate and postgraduate programs, 25 graduate students in international graduate programs, hundreds of short-term exchange students from Canada, Australia, Czechia, Norway, Thailand, Japan, etc. Through the cooperation with foreign partners, many delegations of international students have attended training courses or taken part in activities to learn about Vietnamese culture. The university has organized cultural and culinary exchanges for students and foreign experts studying and working at the school on their traditional holidays and New Year’s Days, contributing to tightening the solidarity and friendship with foreign partners, according to Khong Trung Thang, Chairman of Nha Trang University Council.
 
Air Force Officer’s College has opened 8 military pilot courses, 15 air technique courses for Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and 10 air technique courses for Lao People's Armed Forces for several years. Thousands of Lao and Cambodian students have finished training courses and returned home to work to serve their countries.
 
At the recent talks held by Khanh Hoa Friendship Organizations’ Union, Colonel Nguyen Hai Dang, Deputy Political Officer, Air Force Officer’s College has suggested more concern for the exchange of culture, music and sports among students, thus motivating and welcoming international students.
 
According to the report of Khanh Hoa Friendship Organizations’ Union, people-to-people relations of the schools have been boosted over the past time, contributing to the province's renovation and integration. The schools have organized many exchange activities on holidays of other countries to promote solidarity and friendship between local and foreign students. The Union has also organized some activities for students from Laos and Cambodia such as exchange meetings on their traditional Tet holidays; greeting visits on their National Days; together with supporting Lao students to participate in Vietnamese public speaking contests; inviting students from Laos and Cambodia to enjoy Vietnamese holidays and so on. More practical activities are planned to be held by the Union to promote solidarity and friendship with foreign students in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa in the coming years.
