Khanh Son District is the only district without children's house in Khanh Hoa Province. The district is completing the procedures for the instructional investment of Khanh Son District’s Children House.

At present, Khanh Son District has no playgrounds for children except a district Center of Culture - Sports and Information, which has been in poor condition. The district’s multi-functional sports arena has operated quite effectively but hasn’t yet met the needs for practicing sports of the children in the locality. The number of schools which have playgrounds or physical training facilities for pupils in the district is quite small. The number of playing fields used for public activities over the district also doesn’t satisfy the needs of both adults and children.

Currently, there are nearly 9,000 children in Khanh Son District. The lack of playgrounds and recreational facilities has significantly affected the quality of physical training and development of the local children. Therefore, investment in building children's house in Khanh Son is an urgent need.

At a meeting with the Standing Committee of the provincial Youth Union, the Standing Committee of the provincial Party Committee and the provincial People's Committee directed Khanh Son District People's Committee to complete the legal procedures to build Khanh Son District Children's House.

The children's house has been planned to be built on an area of 11,040 square meters located in Hap Phu residential group, To Hap Town, bordering Ngo Quyen Street in the east, local people's houses and fields in the south, and To Hap river embankment in the north. The children's house will have three blocks, including space for audience, which can accommodate 200 to 300 people; stage; repository; large room for recreational activities; exhibition room; reading room; library; sports practice rooms; study room, etc.

The total investment for Khanh Son District Children's House project, which is stipulated by the resolution of the Provincial People's Council, is VND15 billion, of which VND10 billion will be taken from the province’s budget. However, according to the estimate after studies, a total budget of VND25 billion is required for the implementation of the project, which includes nearly VND6 billion for site clearance compensation. The annual allocated budget to Khanh Son District is insufficient to cover the estimated expense of the project. Therefore, the district People's Committee has proposed that the provincial Standing Party Committee and the provincial People's Committee consider adjusting the project’s total investment to VND25 billion and increase the support rate from the provincial budget to 100%.

The children's house is the desire of many parents, children and other people in Khanh Son District. This facility will serve as a place of entertainment where children can play and enjoy recreational activities. Additionally, it will be a place to teach and train children in different skills, according to Nguyen Van Nhuan, chairman of Khanh Son District People's Committee.
